Our very own, Vanessa Bowen, will be speaking at the SHIFT’23: It’s Electric conference in Bentonville, AR presented by PeopleforBikes.
Bowen will join Dorene O’Malley, Jesse Renteria, and Jeremy Hyatt to discuss: Unpacking the Benefits and Drawbacks of Recreational Trail Creation on Tribal Lands.
The sessions will touch on how Native American communities have sustainably managed their lands for thousands of years, cultivating, adapting, and transferring traditional knowledge over many generations. With the recent growth of recreational trail opportunities, including electric mountain bikes, tribal leaders from across North America will share their perspectives on the benefits and limitations of recreational trail access on native land.
